Stranger still is the fact that it does recognise existing backups on the NAS and allow you to rerun them but you can't make any setting changes to them - just get a file access error. I've checked that my credentials for the NAS are set up correctly and they have tested and told me that the connection has been established but I still can't actually get the backup to work. I've also noticed that in the 'Browse for Destination' window, you can see the device both under the Network and under the NAS connections entries but you can't actually use them. The NAS device can be seen through Windows (7 Home Premium) and you can browse to it as a backup destination but as soon as you try to carry out a backup you get 'Failed to check the existence of. I've just upgraded from ATIH 2009 to 2012 and now I can't create any new backups which will reside on my Seagate Goflex NAS drive.
